Woke up at 6AM and went to the Javits Convention Center to work until 10:00AM then returned to the Marriott to pick up Sally. Then walked over to 5th Avenue and had a bite to eat at Trumps Bar in the Trump Tower. Chicken Caesar and Philly Cheesesteak Spring Rolls-interesting..the service staff all needed to be fired! It was the weak link in our travels in New York and ironically it was in The Donald's establishment! We then headed off for a stroll through Central Park with an ice-cream in hand. From Central Park we went to Bloomingdales where Sally purchased a couple of turtlenecks and some make-up.
By now we are dragging a bit from yesterdays marathon walk so we took the subway to Grand Central and then walked back to Times Square via Bryant Park. Back at the Hotel at 5:15PM -after a brief 45 minute break it's back out into the city enroute to NOBU for dinner. OK, so we arrived at NOBU and had a nice corner table for two. Started out with a Rose wine (French) Gris de Gris, Pink Flamingo 2005. Went on to sake for the rest of the evening Food Ordered:
Kumamoto Oysters and Maui Onion Salsa
Monkfish Pate with Caviar
Creamy Spicy Crab - incredible dish!
Crispy Sea Bass
Fresh Fluke Sashimi with dried Miso
Broiled Black Cod with Miso and then we finished off with an Unagi handroll just for fun...dessert next--
Me; Bento Box - warm Valrhona chocolate souffle cake, shiso syrup, white chocolate sauce and green tea ice-cream...
Sally; coconut Jasmine Bombe-jasmine ice-cream, coconut sorbet, yogurt sauce and yamamono powder. OK, off to Rockefeller Plaza via the subway. Arrived at Rockefeller Plaza and Sally and I went Ice-skating - lovely evening 46 degrees. Walked backed to the hotel. We are shattered, our legs just go in front of one another out of habit at this point. Back in our room now at 10:30PM - quick shower and pack ready to get up at 3AM to go out to JFK for our flight at 6AM to Washington DC and onto London. FYI- The pedometer failed today so no reports of calories burnt, miles walked etc. That's New York - Berlin next. Good night.
